BlueSkyBlue is a British company based in Cheshire.
Created by a keen pilot, BlueSkyBlue was formed to provide a simple straight-forward way for aviation sport participants to buy top quality clothing.
In today’s world, it seems the supermarket rules. The bigger, the better! Even aviation shops and websites now often sell everything from nuts and bolts to satellite navigation systems. Not so at BlueSkyBlue . We specialise in flying suits and a small range of carefully selected accessories.
Summer 2-layer Flying Suit This garment is designed for use in fair weather. Typically, this suit is perfect for use in open-cockpit microlights (or paragliding) during the Summer, at altitudes of up to 3000 feet. Many glider pilots and other leisure aviation pilots also find this medium-weight suit to be ideal. It has the following two layers:
- The outer fabric is called TASLON ® which is windproof and has a great soft feel for comfort. It is very durable and is coated in PU (polyurethane) to resist water.
- The suit lining is a breathable material called polyester TRICOT ® which is designed for effective moisture management. Only dyes which are azo-free are used in the production process.
Winter 3-layer Flying Suit This garment is designed for use in chilly weather. Typically, this suit is perfect for use in open-cockpit microlights during most of the year at altitudes of up to 5000 feet. Many paraglider pilots and other leisure aviation pilots also find this all-round suit to be ideal. It has the following three layers:
- The outer fabric is called TASLON ® which is windproof and has a great soft feel for comfort. It is very durable and is coated in PU (polyurethane) to resist water.
- The middle layer is 150gsm POLYFILL QUILTING. This is a superior insulating material which is designed to retain your body’s heat as much as possible.
- The suit lining is black POLYESTER which is dyed using only azo-free materials in the production process.
Ultimate 4-layer Flying Suit This garment is designed for use in cold weather. Typically, this suit is perfect for use in open-cockpit microlights at altitudes of up to 10000 feet. Many high-altitude paraglider pilots and other leisure aviation pilots also find this top-of-the-range suit to be ideal. It has the following four layers:
- The outer fabric is called TASLON ® which is windproof and has a great soft feel for comfort. It is very durable and is coated in PU (polyurethane) to resist water.
- The outer-middle layer is 100gsm POLYFILL QUILTING. This is a superior insulating material which is designed to retain your body’s heat as much as possible.
- The inner-middle layer is 100gsm THINSULATE™ made by 3M. The unique microfibres of Thinsulate™ Insulation are about ten times smaller than the fibres of most other synthetic insulations, which means they’re much more efficient at trapping air, and more effective at keeping you warm. It also means more fibres can be packed into the same space, where they can reflect back more of the body’s radiant heat without being bulky.
- The suit lining is black POLYESTER which is dyed using only azo-free materials in the production process.
Ultimate DBX 4-layer Flying Suit This garment is designed for use in cold weather. Typically, this suit is perfect for use in open-cockpit microlights at altitudes of up to 10000 feet. Many high-altitude paraglider pilots and other leisure aviation pilots also find this top-of-the-range suit to be ideal. It has the following four layers:
- The outer fabric is called CORDURA ® which is windproof and has a great tough feel for durability. Cordura is an excellent material and is used in sports which demand ultimate performance such as motorbiking.
- The outer-middle layer is 100gsm POLYFILL QUILTING. This is a superior insulating material which is designed to retain your body’s heat as much as possible.
- The inner-middle layer is 100gsm THINSULATE™ made by 3M.
